Another turning point a fork stuck in the road....
So like usual the day began. And like usual the day ended.. but what happenned in between is the interesting part. However, unfortunately for all of you, that is not what this entry is about.
Today's entry is about people... How they move in predictable patterns and why they have to be so blatantly obvious while they are actually trying to be covert. How can someone try to conceal their intentions when they are doing the exact same thing that everyone else has done for the past millenium. When in Rome do as the Romans do? I think not.
We've all seen people act like they hate eachother when factually they are totally secretly in love (aww how cute) and we've all seen the awkwardness of friends becoming more than friends (haven't we sis)? Why do people move in such predictable patterns? Why cant we learn from the past strategies of others and create our own methods of attraction? Im tired of seeing the same romantic crap in movies and television shows.
"Here have some roses"
"Here let me get on my knee and propose to you"
"Look at the slow romantic first kiss where they both almost turn away"
"Surprise i proposed to you on the Megatron screen at a major league sports game"
Where did all the originality go? I can say that I've never been in love, but I used to at least feel good when I saw these proposals or romantic gestures. Now media has just nullified any of my emotional reactions and I look on with apathy and a somewhat disinterested glare. When was the last time you saw a truly original romantic gesture and just got tingly all over? It's been awhile for me. Besides... how often does love ever really work out? In this day and age not very often.
So girls keep hanging around guys acting indifferent when you know they actually like the guy. Guys keep teasing them and pretending like they dont enjoy their company.. and the world turns round. Cute.. but so predictable. I want to be outsmarted when it happens... just blown away. Like "whoa.. where did that come from." If not then oh well.. another victim of society's pressures. I guess what's more important is the fact that it happenned rather than how it happenned. I would still prefer it was different.. like if I fell in love with a girl I rescued from an armed mugger... or maybe a tutor or reunited college sweetheart... or perhaps even a french maid that I import to clean up my house *grins*
For what it's worth, it was worth all the while.
